Planetarium

Welcome to the 2024-25 season of K-12 educational experiences at the SFCC Planetarium!

We are excited to work with you and your students this year as you explore academic topics in astronomy. You will use our K-12 Planetarium Request Form to request your reservation with us. You will receive an automated response upon your request and a separate reply from the planetarium email when your date/time has been confirmed. We cannot process direct requests via email, so please make sure use the form and answer all sections before submitting.

The planetarium seats 52 people, provides 50-minute presentations that include a feature movie and a night sky discussion, and will be reserved on a first-come, first served basis.

Note: We have limited homeschool options available and these are designated on the form. Please do not choose other dates if you are a homeschool group.

Webb's mid-infrared view of galaxy M51. A large spiral galaxy takes up the entirety of the image. The core is mostly bright white, but there are also swirling, detailed structures that resemble water circling a drain. There is white and pale blue light that emanates from stars and dust at the core’s center, but it is tightly limited to the core. The detailed rings feature bands of deep orange and cloudy gray, which are interspersed by darker empty regions throughout.
