Math Literacy
You will take a Math Literacy test if you are intending to pursue one of the following majors or areas of study:

AAS/AAS-T degrees at SFCC that require a specific math class (check the program guide for your degree)

Communications/Journalism or Modern Languages
-
English
-
Fine Arts (including Art/Art History, Drama, and Music)
-
Health Sciences (Occupational Therapy, Dental Hygiene, etc.)
-
Pre-Law
-
Nursing/BSN (four-year degree)
-
Philosophy
-
Physical Education (PE)
-
Secondary Education (except math and science teachers)
-
Social Sciences (including Anthropology, History, Political Science, Psychology, Social Work, and Sociology)
-
BAS
-
Elementary Education (K-8 only)
Important: Graduation from a four-year school usually requires one math course beyond MATH 88. MATH 107 will meet this requirement if a specific math class is not required for your major.
Algebra Intensive
You will take an Algebra Intensive test if you are intending to pursue one of the following majors or areas of study:

Architecture
-
Business (including Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, Marketing, etc.)

Computer Science
-
Engineering
-
Mathematics
-
Physical Therapy
-
Pre-Med/Pre-Dental
-
Life & Physical Sciences (including Astronomy, Biology, Chemistry, Geology, Physics, etc.)
