MyMath Test

1. Pay the $30 testing fee with the Cashiers located in the far east end of Building 17 or over the phone by calling 509-533-3569.

2. Submit the online Activation Request.

3. Within 7-10 business days after submitting your request, you will receive an email from the Testing Center with your login information and expiration date. Be sure to check your spam folder: emails sent from the Testing Center are sent to student's spam folder more often than not. To prevent this issue, tell your email provider that our emails are not spam.

4. Practice and test! Drop-in testing dates are posted in the "Announcements" page on your MMT homepage. No appointment necessary!

Math Literacy

You will take a Math Literacy test if you are intending to pursue one of the following majors or areas of study:

• AAS/AAS-T degrees at SFCC that require a specific math class (check the program guide for your degree)

• Communications/Journalism or Modern Languages

• English

• Fine Arts (including Art/Art History, Drama, and Music)

• Health Sciences (Occupational Therapy, Dental Hygiene, etc.)

• Pre-Law

• Nursing/BSN (four-year degree)

• Philosophy

• Physical Education (PE)

• Secondary Education (except math and science teachers)

• Social Sciences (including Anthropology, History, Political Science, Psychology, Social Work, and Sociology)

• BAS

• Elementary Education (K-8 only)

Important: Graduation from a four-year school usually requires one math course beyond MATH 88. MATH 107 will meet this requirement if a specific math class is not required for your major.

Algebra Intensive

You will take an Algebra Intensive test if you are intending to pursue one of the following majors or areas of study:

• Architecture

• Business (including Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, Marketing, etc.)

• Computer Science

• Engineering

• Mathematics

• Physical Therapy

• Pre-Med/Pre-Dental

• Life & Physical Sciences (including Astronomy, Biology, Chemistry, Geology, Physics, etc.)

Important: This is not a comprehensive list. Requirements at the four-year institution can vary each year. If you have questions, please see a counselor to be advised on the appropriate pathway.

You can either check the program requirements on the What to Study pages to see which classes you'll need to take, or you can talk to an academic advisor.

Within the MyMath Test program, there are 6 practice tests – 3 for each pathway. Practice all three sections of the practice tests for your pathway. You have unlimited access to the practice tests.

Login to your MyMathTest.com account. In the sidebar on the left, click on "Take a Test". The practice tests are located at the borrom of the list and are labeled "Practice." You have unlimited access to the practice tests.

You must have an active MyMath test account and be able to login. To view the MyMath test drop-in dates, simply login to your MyMath test account, click ‘Announcements’, and click ‘TEST DATES’.

The test is progressive and places you as you take the different sections. The tables below show which classes you will place into, based on your scores.

You get two attempts on your 16 week MyMathTest.com account. Each drop-in counts as an attempt. You can drop in a total of two times to take the test.
