Who should take College Prep?
- You want to start a degree or certificate program
- You just finished high school or your GED but you have not started college
- You got your high school diploma or GED a long time ago and you want to refresh your skills
- You would like to improve your English and math skills before you start college
Course Details
We have preparation classes in English and math. You can take both, or just focus on either English or math.
Classes can be offered both in-person and online.
Academic English (non-credit):
- English for Technical Programs – AE57 Pre-College English I: This class will prepare you for writing and reading in professional and technical programs (e.g. Welding, Cosmetology, etc.)
- Academic English – AE67 Pre-College English II: This class will prepare you for success in ENG101 and other writing intensive courses (e.g. Communications, Psychology, History, etc.).
Math Preparation (non-credit):
- Math Literacy Pathway – AE48 Math Fundamentals: This class will prepare you for MATH87.
- STEM and Business Pathway – AE68 Algebra Foundations: This class will prepare you for MATH71.

College Success
A college success class which matches your academic journey. You will receive college credit on completion.

- Steps to Success in Health Careers (HED103)
- College Success (SFCC) – learn general college success skills.
