What Are Your Options?
You can work to earn the GED® credential. GED® (General Educational Development) tests can help you earn a high school equivalency certificate.
- Spokane Community College offers GED prep classes.
- You can start anytime. Classes are available in person, online, or a mix of both.
- Our counselors will help you to figure out which is the best pathway for you.
There are 4 GED® tests, separated by subject. You do not have to take all 4 tests at once - you can space them out however it suits you and go at your own pace. Our classes will help you to prepare for the tests. Classes are $25 a quarter. Financial assistance available – please ask!

GED Enrollment Requirements
You must be at least 16 years old. If you are between the ages of 16 and 18 you need to get a high school state release/approval to test from the school district you currently live in. Send the release to ABEinquiry@scc.spokane.edu
Steps to Enroll
- Apply for admission
- Send high school transcripts to scc.hstranscripts@scc.spokane.edu
- If you're 16-18, get a high school state release from your current school district and send it to ABEinquiry@scc.spokane.edu
- Attend an ABE Orientation.
- Meet with a counselor to plan and register for classes.
- Start classes!
