The SFCC Fine Art Gallery is an educational gallery where students and community can engage with contemporary work by a wide range of artists in a variety of media. We are dedicated to bringing traditional and nontraditional exhibitions to the Spokane area. We offer lectures, workshops and receptions with each exhibition so that visitors can further enjoy and engage with the arts. Exhibitions occur twice quarterly with a graduating student exhibition each spring.
We aim to ...
- promote learning, dialogue, and critical thinking,
- challenge inequities, and
- to enrich the cultural vitality of the campus and community.
Integral to the gallery’s mission, the sƛ̓x̣etkʷ Artist-in-Residence Program launched in 2025 with the completed construction of sƛ̓x̣etkʷ Fine and Applied Arts Building 32. The annual three-month residency provides state of the art studio space through the Fine Art Department to an emerging Native American (NA) artist who is a documented descendent and/or enrolled member of a US Federally Recognized Tribe (FRT) with priority given to Tribes of the Pacific Northwest. Off campus housing and a monthly stipend are provided during each residency cycle where the selected artist will explore creative expression through educational and professional development opportunities that connect them with students and the wider Spokane community.
