Step 1 – Apply

Running Start students need to apply to Spokane Falls Community College (SFCC) as any other student would. Please complete the application here. Make sure you select “Running Start” as your admission type.

To help us process your application, please include the following:

  • The Washington state public high school you attend.

  • A secondary phone number if available (Please make sure your phone message box is set up.).

NOTE: We send messages via email to the email address you include on the application. Please check spam and junk boxes so you don't miss a message that has important information or is requesting a reply that is date sensitive.

Once your application has been processed, you receive a ctcLink ID from the Running Start Office via an email and a letter mailed to your home address, which contains your next steps to complete for your eligibility.

Eligibility Requirements

  • High school transcript cumulative 3.0 GPA or higher (three semesters or more)

  • SAT score of 530 or higher (average of reading and writing scores)

Writing Assessment:

If your grade point average is below 3.0, and you don't have an alternative test score, you must schedule a writing assessment with the SFCC Testing Center

  • Prior to taking the writing assessment, a $30 testing fee must be paid at the Cashier's Office in person, over the phone or by mail. Note: The testing fee is not waived for students on free and reduced meals.
