Need a book or article that isn’t available in our Spokane Falls’ library? Interlibrary Loan (ILL) is a free service that allows you to borrow books, articles, and other materials from libraries outside of our library’s collection. All current students, faculty, and staff are eligible to use SFCC ILL services.

What types of materials can I request?
You can request books, journal articles, and in some cases, multimedia materials.
How long does it take to receive an ILL request?
Book requests can take anywhere from a week and a half to several weeks, depending on the availability of the item.
Journal article requests are received more quickly generally within 24-72 hours.
How will I know when my ILL request arrives?
You will typically receive a notification via email or by phone from the SFCC library staff.
Book requests - You will have 5 business days to pick up the book. Please bring your student ID card
Journal article requests - will be emailed as .pdf attachments to the address you listed when making the request.
Loan period for items borrowed?
The loan period for books borrowed through ILL are set by the loaning lending library, usually ranging from 1 to 3 weeks.
What happens if I lose or damage an ILL item?
If you lose or damage an ILL item, you may will be responsible for paying the replacement cost or any associated fees as dictated by the lending library’s policies.
