What Are Our Polices?

Libraries are welcoming places where you can hang out and study, meet with study groups and use desktop computers, scanners, printers and assistive technology like screen readers. Here are a few guidelines and policies to help make the libraries a comfortable place for you and your classmates.

  • Use a study room for group work. Study rooms with computers make it possible for groups to work and talk together without disturbing others.

  • Non-academic use of library computers is prohibited when library is busy. Guest use may be restricted during peak hours.

  • Turn cell phones to vibrate mode in the library. Take calls away from the quiet study zones.

  • Only drinks in covered, spill-proof containers and tidy snack food allowed. Put empty containers into trash and recycle bins.

  • Keep your headphone volume low.

  • Children always welcome but must be supervised by a guardian.

  • Students violating library guidelines receive a reminder about the rule. A second violation is a breach of the Standards of Conduct for Students and are reported to the college director for student life pursuant to CCS Acceptable Use of IT Resources and the Student Code of Conduct.

Collection Development

The collection development mission of the Spokane Falls Community College Library promotes a close working relationship with SFCC departments, programs, and students. Faculty librarian liaisons are assigned to specific course subject areas to work collaboratively with teaching faculty, serve as a department's first point of contact for information about library resources and services, and select materials to support curricula.
