Skilled Trades Program (STP)

Ready for a career in construction?

Interested in working in a skilled trade? The first step to many well-paying careers is an apprenticeship program. STP gives you the basic skills and training, such as safety training and first aid, so you can succeed as an apprentice, regardless of the trade you choose.

Program Details:

  • ​STP is an 11-week course offered in the fall, winter, and spring quarters.

  • Class times: Monday through Thursday, 7:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and Friday, 8 a.m. to Noon. There is no part-time option.

  • Students are expected to attend every day for the entire time.

  • STP is offered at the Apprenticeship and Journeyman Training Center, 2110 N. Fancher Way, Spokane Valley, WA 99212

Program Eligibility:

  • Have a high school diploma or GED. If you don’t have it yet, please contact us because either we can make an exception if you are close, or we can help you get your diploma or GED

  • Students in our ESL Program should have completed ESL 6. If you are close, please contact us.

  • Most students qualify for additional support including transportation and tool assistance.
