Vicki was born and raised on a large commercial farm in Napa, California. She was able to combine her farm knowledge and love of science when she studied at California State Polytechnical Institute in San Luis Obispo with a major in Dairy Science. She has worked in the SFCC Admissions & Registration office for 20 years. During this time, she had the opportunity to serve students from application to completion and beyond.

Vicki joined the Computing, Math, and Science Division as a Guided Pathway Specialist in 2022. She is passionate about STEM, pathways and dedicated to helping students achieve their goals by meeting them where they are.

When off-campus, she enjoys spending time with her family, gardening and reading. She is proud of her 3 sons and 2 daughters-in-law who attended CCS.

Amy Gray spent much of her childhood reading in trees, flipping over logs to look for beetles, and annoying her mother by stuffing her pockets with rocks, mosses and lichens and failing to remove them before Laundry Day. She had a long career in food, wine, and coffee before returning to school as a non-traditional student (academic code for "older than usual"). It was at Spokane Falls Community College that she rediscovered her passion for the sciences, which began an academic exploration into botany, entomology, mycology, and microbiology. She completed a four-year degree in Biology at Eastern Washington University, and then a Master of Science in Biology (emphasis: molecular biology) at the same institution.

Her current passions are connecting undergraduates with hands-on research opportunities, science outreach with the public, and spending time in the woods with her own budding young scientist and husky mutt.

Dr. Pearson earned her A.A.S. at SFCC and her B.S. in Biology from Eastern Washington University. Her research interests in plant and fungal interactions led Dr. Pearson to earn her Ph.D. in Cellular and Molecular Biology from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where she conducted research in the field and in the lab.

Scott is an ecologist interested in the effects of landscape changes on aquatic systems and the biological characteristics that influence the ability of these systems to respond to environmental change. He is the primary advisor for students interested in studying environmental science, and currently teaches courses in environmental science, microbiology, and oceanography.

As a graduate student at Portland State University, Scott studied the effect of microbial food chains on the breakdown of toxic chemicals. He continued his education as a Ph.D. student at Michigan State University, developing methods to assess the effects of environmental change on biological communities in streams and rivers. These methods have been applied to help inform environmental management in Michigan and in California, where he worked as a postdoctoral scholar and visiting researcher at The University of California, Santa Cruz. While at UCSC, Scott examined the effects of land use on stream and river systems entering Monterey Bay on the central California coast.

When not helping students succeed in science, Scott enjoys spending time with his family, fly fishing, and photography.

Mukti teaches Human Anatomy and Physiology, Microbiology, and Human Nutrition at Spokane Falls Community College.  She completed her undergraduate studies (BS in Biotechnology, Zoology, and Chemistry and a Post Graduate Diploma in Chemical Analysis) at Osmania University in India.  She moved to the United States in 2007 and got an MS in Biological Sciences from Eastern Washington University. She is currently working on getting a Ph.D. in Math and Science Education from Washington State University. She loves teaching sciences to students who are interested in a career in Nursing, Medicine, or allied healthcare fields.  When not working Mukti loves to ride horses and hike.  She is an animal lover and currently has 2 dogs, a toad, and a frog.
