Steps to Enroll

Hello, future Running Start student! We're thrilled to welcome you on this exciting journey toward college enrollment. Did you know that once you enter college, your education records are legally private unless you say otherwise? This means the thrill of meeting enrollment requirements is all yours; parent assists are certainly okay. Just follow the steps on this page, and you'll be fine. In all required documents, be sure to use your personal email and mobile numbers. This is where we will send all important communication.

Apply for Admission

To enroll in Running Start @ SFCC, whether it’s just for a few classes or to attend full time, you must complete the statewide community college application. On your application, choose the options shown in the oposite image.

  • SFCC for College
  • Running Start is your Admit Type
  • Academic is your Program type 

You will receive a welcome email from us with enrollment instructions when we have processed your application.

Complete Essential Forms

Keep your progress moving by meeting with your high school counselor to fill out the mandatory Enrollment Verification and Graduation Requirements forms. If you're going to only take a few classes, simply inform your counselor, and they'll note it on the forms. Ensure all required signatures are in place. If you are planning to attend Summer quarter, please complete the Summer Enrollment Verification form. Access the forms easily by clicking on the buttons below.

  • Winter Quarter: Tuesday October 29th (registration for new students November 12th)
  • Spring Quarter: Monday February 10th (registration for new students February 24th)
Email Notification.

Watch for Welcome and Onboarding Emails

Look out for an email letting you know about your admission to SFCC. The welcome message will be sent to the email account used on your applicaiton. This email will have your SFCC Student ID and a link to our online orientation, which is a must-do for enrollment. In the orientation, simply submit your Enrollment Verification Form, Graduation Plan, and high school transcripts . Once you've supplied this, we'll take care of scheduling your new student advising session and share your enrollment date with you.

Seal the Deal: Pay Your Running Start Fees

Running Start students cover mandatory fees, books, and supplies. If you're eligible for reduced fees, share your reduced lunch eligibility document/letter from the last five years during online orientation. Pay your fees easily through your ctcLink student account or simply drop by the cashier's office. We're here to help!
