If you’re a leader who is drawn to the dynamic world of business, then a career in management could be for you.
In this program, you’ll study the basic principles of business management and learn about sales, marketing, leadership, human resources and social media. Depending on your interests and career goals, you’ll choose an area of emphasis in marketing, small business management, social media marketing, or general business.
Whether you want to work in retail or in a business office, this program will provide the training to potentially become a middle manager or junior executive in a variety of professional settings.
1. Analyze strategies to develop a balanced marketing mix to satisfy customers.
2. Describe the basic management functions and the human resource management process .
3. Apply human relations and customer service skills in a variety of situations and communicate effectively.
4. Analyze information and perform calculations related to typical business topics.
5. Understand laws impacting business operations.

Brent Booth earned a bachelor's degree in business administration from Washington State University, a master's degree from the University of Montana, and a PhD in business administration from Northcentral University. Before joining Spokane Falls Community College in 2008, he taught at North Idaho College and also gained work experience in both large corporations and small businesses.
