Jamie Southwell is excited to be the pathway specialist who works with students earning their business degrees. Jamie Southwell joined Spokane Falls Community College as a student in 2020 and earned his Associates in business management shortly after. After graduation, Jamie expanded his passion for the bigfoot community by joining the team himself as the business pathway specialist. Jamie’s firsthand knowledge of the program helps students understand the business pathway, and Jamie’s passion for ensuring each student feels warm and welcomed by the community shines light on the inclusion of SFCC. He enjoys hiking, listening to music, and exploring new foods on his free time.

My name is Jackie Franklin and I have been teaching business for over 20 years.

I was a student at Spokane Falls Community College, earned a BA in accounting from Gonzaga University, and an MBA from Eastern Washington University. In my career, I have worked in public accounting, and private accounting, and owned a successful consulting company. Shortly after earning my CPA, I started teaching at SFCC as an adjunct (part-time) instructor and fell in love with teaching.

I love the Pacific Northwest. In my spare time you find me on a kayak or a hiking trail.

lodie Goodman has been a dedicated member of the SFCC community since September 2000. She began her career as a French and film instructor and served as Chair of the Communication Arts & Modern Languages Department. After 18 years of teaching and advising students across campus, she transitioned to her current role as Instructional Dean. In this capacity, lodie collaborates with faculty, staff, and students to advance SFCC's mission and foster a culture of innovation and inclusivity.

lodie is passionate about mentoring and is deeply committed to Equity, Diversity, Inclusion, and Belonging (EDIB), particularly in Community Health and Education. She is also a strong advocate for professional development, ensuring faculty and staff have opportunities to grow and thrive. She is always ready to step in—often behind the scenes—to support initiatives that enhance student success and community engagement.

In her free time, lodie enjoys spending time with her family, which includes four German Shepherds. Her hobbies include teaching and practicing yoga, writing, tending to her organic lavender field, collecting rocks, and beading.

I have been teaching Accounting at the Falls since 2018 after 35 years of working at large corporations. I started my career as an accountant but most of my experience is in finance and general management. I have a bachelors’ degree in accounting from the University of Notre Dame and a masters’ degree in finance from Northwestern University.

My teaching philosophy is to demonstrate how a knowledge of accounting is relevant to students regardless of career choice. I relate the topics we cover to business issues faced by organizations of different sizes and in a wide range of industries to increase student interest and curiosity. I strive to create an active learning environment where class activities are the cornerstone of learning and class attendance leads to a strong understanding of the material and the development of critical thinking skills.

Christina Woytalewicz joined Spokane Falls Community College in 2018. Christina has earned a bachelor’s in finance and accounting and a master’s in accounting with a concentration in taxation from Florida State University. Her last name is pronounced ‘why-ta-lev-itch.’
