Welcome to SFCC

Welcome to SFCC

Letter from SFCC President Kimberlee S. Messina, Ed.D

Welcome to Spokane Falls Community College,

Even though Fall Quarter doesn’t begin until September 20, we already are looking forward to meeting you and watching you find success at SFCC. We’ve been working all summer to get everything ready to provide you with a great college experience.

Our faculty are some of the best in the region and we keep our classes small so that you can have a personal learning experience here. Our student services staff are dedicated to providing you with the support and services you need to reach your goals. Plus, your student government leaders have planned a year filled with activities and entertainment to balance out your college life.

I’m also happy to announce that we will return to offering our regular on-campus food services and promise we’ll have a lively campus experience this fall.

After the last year of COVID-19 uncertainty, you might be wondering what it will be like on campus this academic year. We’ve put plans in place to meet your needs and preferences, whether you are choosing to attend classes in-person, online or some combination of both. You’ll find plenty of choices and options to meet your needs.

We will be sending you information soon with the details of our COVID-19 safety measures and the way you can provide us with information about your vaccination status through an easy online tool. We'll be having some free vaccination clinics on campus and are happy to help connect you with convenient places in Spokane where you can get vaccinated if you choose to do so. You can always find the latest Covid-19 information online at: sfcc.spokane.edu/News-Events/Coronavirus.

As your college President, I want to encourage you to enjoy and fully engage in your college experience. Ask questions, try new things and meet new people. Celebrate your successes this year and learn from your mistakes. We’ll be here celebrating with you.

Please feel free to come to campus before your first day and learn your way around. If you see me, please stop me and say hello. I look forward to meeting you and hope your year gets off to a great start!

Sincerely,
Kimberlee S. Messina, Ed.D. President, Spokane Falls Community College
