Wildcat Weekend

 

[Ellensburg, WA.] Hard work, dedication and overcoming adversity have been the hallmark of the sasquatch track and teams this season. Cold temperatures, injuries and competing against mostly NCAA schools the majority of the year have added to the challenge.

On Saturday April 22 the teams competed in the Central Washington University Invitational against eighteen other colleges and universities in what was easily the best meet of the year with many great performances in a number of events for the sasquatch.

A record number of student athletes achieved personal or season best marks. A total of thirty-two top marks made for a stellar meet. The following earned those results;

Currently the team has a total of 10 individuals ranked #1 in their event or events. Up next is the Oregon State University high performance meet on April 27 and 28 on the OSU Whyte Campus Track in Corvallis, Oregon.

Also coming up is the NWAC Heptathlon/Decathlon Championships Monday May1 and Tuesday May 2 hosted by Lane Community College in Eugene, Oregon.

The Sasquatch will have three women in the heptathlon Emma Bryson, Saira Schoener and Miranda Irwin. The men will have Jaxson Nichols, Cameron Galbreath and Hunter Beatty competing in the decathlon. The team points from this event will be counted toward the overall team score at the year ending NWAC Championship meet May 22-23 hosted by Mt Hood Community College.
