A mixed media art exhibit by a recently retired art instructor at Spokane Falls Community College opened today at the SFCC Fine Arts Gallery and continues through Oct. 22.
Although the SFCC campus is closed to drop-in visitors because of the pandemic, anyone interested in visiting the art exhibit by Thomas O’Day can make arrangements by calling him at 533-3710 or emailing thomas.oday@sfcc.spokane.edu.

Using the direct experience of a first responder fighting COVID-19, a new four-hour class offered by Community Colleges of Spokane aims to help businesses and organizations develop internal contact tracing within their organization to minimize the effect of COVID-19. Participants of this class will learn the process of developing and maintaining internal contract tracing, how it protects their internal and external customers, and supports regional contract tracing work of the epidemiologists at the Spokane Regional Health District (SRHD).

A tough financial time at CCS got a boost this week when the State Board for Community and Technical Colleges approved giving it $4.3 million in one-time funds from the Governor's Emergency Education Relief fund.

At a time when high school students are considering their options, the Community Colleges of Spokane has been awarded an $89,546 state grant in a competitive process to help Running Start students with the costs of attending community college.

The Community Colleges of Spokane Foundation has received a generous $500,000 donation for student scholarships from the Krumble Foundation, a Spokane charitable organization.
The gift will provide $4,000 scholarships to more than 100 students over the next five years. The CCS Foundation will begin taking applications from students in August to award scholarships for fall quarter.
