The Honors Program is designed to enhance your readiness to meet the challenges and opportunities of your chosen career and to assist you in contributing in a meaningful way to the world.
During your educational experiences, you have probably become accustomed to having your academic record evaluated: transcripts, recommendations, test scores, etc. Admission to the Honors Program is no exception—yet we also know that there is more to you than these documents.
To apply, you will need to:
- Fill out the application form below
- Write and submit your application essay
- Request and submit a letter of recommendation (optional)
Please note: Students must apply to the program before they have earned 45 college-level credits, and they must apply and meet the international student admission requirements for SCC and/or SFCC.
In 500 words or less, tell us what we should know about you that we won’t see in your academic record, specifically an example that addresses your readiness to meet the intellectual challenges and opportunities that the Honors Program cultivates. You might consider an experience that you have had, an obstacle that you have encountered, or a trait or skill that you have developed that makes you a good candidate for the Honors Program and its goals.
Letter of Recommendation
Your letter of recommendation should be a positive letter from a previous or current teacher, employer, or any non-relative that can speak to your academic potential for success in the Honors Program. The recommender's full name and contact information needs to be included in the letter. This latter is optional but will make a strong case for your application.
Please upload your essay and letter of recommendation in MS Word, Rich Text, Plain Text, or PDF format at the end of this form.
