This course is designed as an advanced pedorthics educational series with objectives being to elevate the skill-enhancing abilities to problem solve, use deductive reasoning, and apply advanced biomechanical theory. Shane Hayes, C.Ped, (owner of Shane’s Foot Comfort Center in Seattle and adjunct faculty at the University of Washington), will teach this “Real World” course. Shane has served the industry for more than four decades with clinical experiences specializing in advanced techniques for chronic and unresolved pathologies. This course will systematically improve the understanding of / or achieve a higher level of mastery of the necessary skills for advanced pedorthics. An applied patient assessment is incorporated within the course to aid in accurately formulating a biomechanically engineered foot orthosis, ankle foot orthosis and footwear to meet the patient’s individual needs. The course is highly recommended for the prevention-driven practitioner as well as practitioners treating chronic or unresolved foot pathologies.
