Are You Ready For Commencement?

Student Arrival – You should arrive at 2:00 pm
Graduates, please use the lower level Mallon Street entrance (across from Flour Mill).You should arrive at the Arena (with your cap and gown) ONE HOUR PRIOR TO THE CEREMONY.
There will be tables located in the lower level south corridor where you will pick up two 3x5 cards with your name and lineup location listed on them. There will be signs and ushers throughout the Arena to provide directions to the lineup area and will assist you with line up and procedures.
Student leaders will direct you during the ceremony. Please pay close attention to the directions of the Marshals; they are there to provide assistance and a smooth process for commencement.
All family & guests should use the Main entrance to enter the Arena. Guests are not allowed in the student line up area or on the floor of the arena. Guests do not need tickets to attend the ceremony.
Sign Language Interpreting Services
for guests who are deaf or hard of hearing, sign language interpreting services will be available in section 115 located near the (southwest) corner of the Commencement stage. Captioning will also be available on the two large screens adjacent to the Commencement stage.

Let family & friends know...You Did It!! Personalized graduation announcements are available for purchase in the SFCC Bookstore. A package of 12 printed, personalized announcements and envelopes is $12.99 + tax per package. Orders will be filled within 72 hours (not including weekends). Child care forgraduatingstudents, who havechildren currently enrolled at the Early Learning Center, will be available June 15that the ELC. Pre-registration is required. Make reservationsno later than June 11th by 4:00 p.m.,by calling 509-533-3624. Children must be picked up from the centerno later than 6:30 p.m.A legal guardian or authorized emergency contact must sign the child in and pick them up.
A professional photographer (After Image) will take photographs of you before walking across the stage and as the graduate shakes hands with the president. 2018 Spring Commencement photos are available online within a few days after the ceremony. You may complete an online form to be notified when the photos are available.
Marshals will escort you through the procession to be seated and then through the ceremony. During the ceremony you will give one of the 3x5 cards to the photographer’s assistant at the corner of the stage. Give the other 3x5 card to the Dean standing at the podium. The Dean will read your name as you receive a diploma cover. You will shake the President’s hand (photo taken here), exit the stage and continue the procession to your row of chairs. The ceremony lasts approximately 1½ hours.
Graduates may not leave the arena flooruntil all degrees have been awarded and the recessional march is completed. Please listen to the Vice President at the end of the ceremony as directions for exiting will be given. You will follow the student marshals out the same way you came in.
