Lynn Kinney, Women’s Cross Country & Track and Field 1976-77-78  

Lynn KinneyCoached by Dale Kennedy, Lynn was the NWAACC Champion in the 100 High Hurdles (14.89) and High Jump (5'7") in 1978. Lynn also ran on the NWAACC Championship 400 Relay (48.93 Record) and the 1600 Relay (3:49.43) in 1978.

Joan Corbin, Women’s Cross Country & Track and Field 1977-78-79 

Joan CorbinCoached by Dale Kennedy, Joan was the Women’s Conference Champion Cross Country in 1977 and NWAACC Champion in the 1500 (4:39.75) and 800 (2:15.91) in 1978. Joan was first of the long line of CCS women long-distance runners who won the NWAACC Championships.

Jody Myers, Women’s Track and Field 1977-78-79

Jody MeyersCoached by Dale Kennedy, Jody was the NWAACC Champion in the 400 IM (1:01.87 Record) in 1978. She also ran on the NWAACC Championship 400 Relay (48.39 Record) and the 1600 Relay team (3:49.43) in 1978.

Paula Nickerson, Basketball, Volleyball, Track and Field 1977-78-79

Paula NickersonPaula attended Rogers High School where she competed in three sports for the Pirates. She continued to excel in basketball, volleyball, and track and field at SFCC during the 1977-78-79 seasons. Paula was selected for the NWAACC basketball All-League Team in 1978-79 when she set a one-game rebounding record with 22 boards and accumulated 468 career points. Nickerson was an outstanding volleyball player for two seasons and competed on the track and field team as well. One of the best three-sport athletes to attend SFCC, she set the NWAACC shot put record at 43’3”and won the NWAACC high jump at 5’4” in her sophomore year.

Kelly Warren, Women’s Cross Country & Track and Field 1978-79-80

Kelly WarrenCoached by Dale Kennedy, Kelly was the NWAACC Cross Country Champion in 1978 (18:43) and placed third in 1979. Kelly ran the 3000 (10:19.95), 5000 (17:48.65), and the 10000 (38:02.76) in 1980.

Janet Buntin, Women's Track and Field 1979-80-81 

Janet BuntonA great long jumper and good sprinter for CCS under Coach Dale Kennedy, Janet won the NWAACC Championship in the long jump in 1981 with a leap of 19’8.75”, which is still one of the best marks in NWAACC history. She also ran on the 400 Relay team as CCS won two straight NWAACC Team Championships while Janet was competing.

Pauline Henry, Women’s Track and Field 1980-81-82

Pauline HenryCoached by Dale Kennedy, Pauline was the NWAACC Champion in the long jump (18'09.25") in 1982. Pauline was an outstanding sprinter as well as jumper who ran the 100 (12.54) in 1982.

Lisa Hoffman, Women’s Track and Field 1980-81-82

Lisa HoffmanCoached by Dale Kennedy in 1981, Lisa was the NWAACC Champion in the discus in 1981 (148'10") and won the shot put (43'06") in 1982. Lisa was one of the first great women throwers to compete for CCS.

Trish (Henderson) Tester, Women’s Cross Country & Track and Field, 1981-1983

Trish HendersonTrish Henderson attended Battle Ground HS before joining the Sasquatch at SCC. She was coached in cross country by Max Jensen in her first year at CCS and then Duane Hartman as a sophomore. Trish finished fourth in the NWAACC Cross Country Championship in 1981 before winning the 1982 NWAACC Cross Country Individual Championship (18:46.0) as a sophomore. She led the CCS team to the NWAACC Women’s XC Team Championship in 1982 by finishing first and beating a great field. Trish was also outstanding in CCS track as she had personal bests in the 3000 (10:05.31) and 5000 (17:52.8) that still rank her in the top ten of all time at CCS. She was selected as the women’s cross country team MVP at the finish of the 1983 season.
