About Us
Welcome to the Applied Technology (AT) Club at SFCC. The purpose of our club is to promote learning and interaction within areas related to computer information systems and technology, and to encourage interdisciplinary learning, cultural exchange and recreational activities in areas where computer information systems and technology apply. The AT Club has its roots within the Information Systems program of study, located in rooms 127 A & B in building 18. Membership in the AT Club is free and is open to all SFCC students, regardless of program discipline, who have an interest and wish to join. The AT Club meets at least once per month during the academic year, usually on the third Wednesday of the month (check schedule at 127A for exact dates and times).
The AT Club sponsors and is involved with many events, such as guest speakers, fund raisers, campus club days, informative workshops, internship opportunities, a computer refurbishment program and community outreach projects. SFCC's Applied Technology Club is a student chapter of the ACM and also has a student chapter for the HTCIA. The Association of Computing Machinery (ACM) is the world's largest educational and scientific computing society and delivers resources that advance computing as a science and a profession. Currently, there are over 95,000 ACM members worldwide. The High Technology Crime Investigation Association (HTCIA) fosters and promotes the study of criminal investigations involving advanced technologies, securities and computer forensics by the academic community.
